Automatic profile storage

We are continuously striving to improve our production and logistics processes; in order to do that, we have installed a 16 m high automated storage system in our production and storage facilities.

The new racks add several dozens of new storage shelves, however their main purpose is to better organise the transfer of profiles between the warehouse and the coating plant. Located next to the vertical coating line, they serve as a buffer for coating operations. This new system will decidedly improve the flow of stock between the warehouse and the coating line and greatly increase the effectiveness of use of space.

The system includes two independent loading and unloading stations allowing easy access to stored stock. Two vertical lifts transport profiles to predetermined locations on the rack. The system is designed for quick and easy loading and unloading of stock resulting in improved manufacturing effectiveness.

This new investment at Ponzio is another development aimed at improving customer service.
